Jong Ajax easily beat FC Den Bosch, who were completely outgunned by the eager, young players of Ajax. The Ajacieden were very sloppy with their chances and thus the match ended in only 5-1.
The Ajax Reserves started the match fresh and with an attacking mindset and saw their efforts awarded early, in the 5th minute Lassina Traoré reached Jurgen Ekkelenkamp at the edge of the 18-yard box who cut inside and found the back of the net. Ajax kept on pressing and just 5 minutes later they scored again. Nicolas Kühn is allowed to dribble towards the den Bosch goal via the backline and scores via the goalie from an, what seemed to be, impossible angle.
Ajax should have made at least 3 goals in the first half hour, Noa Lang’s pass put Lassina Traoré free in front of the Den Bosch goal but in the one on one situation the Burkinabe striker hit the post. A few minutes later Den Bosch goalkeeper van der Steen saves a shot from Gravenberch from inside the 5-meter area that should have been a definite goal. Ajax created enough chances but was very sloppy in the finishing.
After the break, Ajax was still the dominant team and within 5 minutes Jurgen Ekkelenkamp scored the 3-0 after a great cross by left-back Juan Castillo. Still not satisfied with their lead Ajax kept hunting for the 4-0, and successfully. Bad defending by Den Bosch allowed Traoré to get in front of the goal and unlike the first half he slots the ball home.
In the last half hour of the match Ajax lost their concentration which led to quite a few unnecessary mistakes. FC Den Bosch profited and Kjell Scherpen had no chance when Rodrigues scored a rebound after the post saved a shot by Laukart, 4-1. Ajax found some extra energy after this goal and the substitution of Brobbey for Ekkelenkamp but both the substitute and Quinten Timber missed big chances. In the last minute Traoré scores the 5-1 and his 13th goal of the season with a header after a corner.
NAC lost versus Almere City which means Ajax Reserves are now in 3rd place in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, with 26 points – 4 behind the leaders Cambuur and de Graafschap. Lassina Traoré still leads the top scorers list with 13 goals. Next up is a so called 6 pointer versus NAC!
