According to the French football website Daily Mercato Ajax is interested in Stade de Reims goalie Predrag Rajkovic. The French club bought the 24-year-old goalkeeper this summer from Maccabi Tel Aviv for five million euro and in his first months at Stade de Reims he made a great impression. So far, he managed to keep a clean sheet 9 times in Lique 1 and only conceded 6 goals in the 13 matches played in the French competition.
Because of his great start, Rajkovic finds himself on the scouting lists of Ajax and Portuguese top club FC Porto. Rajkovic played 37 games for Red Star Belgrade before moving to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2015. In Israel, he played 192 games in which he kept a clean sheet 90 times which earned him a transfer to Stade de Reims. The goalkeeper won the U-19 European Championship with Serbia in 2014 and the U-20 World Championship one year later. In the past few years, he also played 12 games for the first squad of Serbia.
Recently Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf mentioned that Paris Saint Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United are interested in Ajax goalkeeper André Onana and therefore it’s understandable that Ajax is participating on a transfer coming summer. On the other hand, the interest in Rajkovic can be seen as a bit striking since Ajax already has three goalkeepers behind Onana with Kjell Scherpen (19), Dominik Kotarski (19) and Bruno Varela (25).
It’s not sure if Rajkovic would be interested in making a transfer coming summer already since he stated the following in an interview with L’Équipe just weeks ago: ‘Leaving coming summer? I’ve said before that I want to stay at Stade de Reims for two or three years and I keep holding on to that thought. This is a beautiful club.’.
