Erik ten Hag is a happy man with players like Hakim Ziyech and Quincy Promes in his team. Both players played an excellent game on Saturday evening against Heracles Almelo. Ziyech had two assists, both on Promes who scored the 1-0 and the 3-0.
“It’s fantastic to work with players who have these qualities. It really is a pleasure. To think of a certain pass or shots is one thing but to do it is a second. These players have the skills to do so.” says Ten Hag to Fox Sports.
The first part of the game wasn’t that easy for Ajax since Heracles Almelo played with a lot of pressure. The Ajax-manager expected them to do so but not the way they did: “We expected them to play a bit different because they played with high pressure with 3 attackers which we didn’t expect. It’s up to us to not get nervous when a team plays with high pressure and to find solutions.”
Right-back Noussair Mazraoui had to leave the pitch after 67 minutes because of an injury. It’s not sure yet how serious the injury is and if he will be fit for the game against Lille on Wednesday. “The first 24 hours it’s a waiting game. Our medical staff will do research. I’m not panicking yet, we’ll have to wait till tomorrow to know more”.
