Ajax manager Erik ten Hag doesn’t rule out any activity from Ajax on the transfer market during the winter. First, he wants to see how Promes, Neres, and Labyad recover from their injuries, though.
Only a few weeks ago ten Hag stated that Ajax won’t be signing any new players but the situation is different now. “We will have to take a good look at the situation,” says the coach. “What about the various injuries? What are the predictions? And those results might make us rethink our strategy. But even then, there must be someone available who can help us immediately.”
Ten Hag has stated that the arrival of any new players will depend, among other things, on the recovery of Neres. “We need to analyse and draw conclusions about how quickly someone can be of value. This applies not only to Neres but also to Labyad and Promes.”
The manager found his favourite XI when Ajax went to Chelsea. “After that, we had to adapt (due to the injury of Neres, ed.). First, we did that with Labyad. He filled it out well. After that, we had to make more concessions and then you know that the performance will be less.
