Danny Blind, father of Ajax defender Daley Blind has stated that his son started training again and is working on a full return on the pitch.
This doesn’t mean that he’ll be back on the pitch soon but it’s a clear step in his progress. He has started following a strict personal training schedule that has to get him back into shape.
Daley Blind was diagnosed with heart muscle inflammation in December of 2019. He suffered dizziness in the Champions League match versus Valencia and was subsequently examined to determine the cause.
People immediately feared that it might mean the end of Blind’s career but the 33-year old already stated that he would come back stronger. Doctors placed a subcutaneous ICD under his skin, which is able to perform cardioversion, defibrillation, and pacing of the heart. The device is therefore capable of correcting most life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias.
Hopefully, we will see Daley back on the pitch again, but most importantly let’s hope that remains healthy!
