A few surprises in the Ajax starting eleven that faces Liverpool tonight. Edson Álvarez will start as a central defensive midfielder and the wings will be occupied by the Brazilians; Neres and Antony.
This means that Ajax will play in a more defensive system than normally. Where we expected Labyad to play as a CAM, Ten Hag has chosen for a CDM and thus Álvarez. Ryan Gravenberch and Davy Klaassen must provide the offensive actions from the midfield.
In the attack, Dusan Tadic is once again allowed to play as a striker. He’s accompanied by David Neres on his left wing and Antony on his right.
