Davy Klaassen will return to Ajax, according to VI & De Telegraaf. Ajax and his current club, Werder Bremen, have reached an agreement over the attacking midfielder. The transfer of the 27-year-old will be made official soon. Ajax will pay around €11 million for his services, which can rise to €14 million dependent on certain bonuses.

The negotiations between Ajax and Bremen have been going on for a few days, as we reported earlier.

Klaassen, a real Ajax-kid, left the club in 2017 for Everton. His spell in England wasn’t a success and in 2018 he left for the Bundesliga. In the last two seasons he’s revived his career and now Ajax is looking to bring him back home.

Ajax has sold three midfielders this transfer period (van de Beek, Eiting, and Marin) and is now looking for some experience to strengthen that part of the pitch. Klaassen is thought to be a perfect fit.
