The transfer of Thiago Alcántara from Bayern Munich to Liverpool might have consequences for Ajax. According to Christian Falk, who’s usually very trustworthy on Bayern news, Bayern wants to invest the 30 million they receive from that transfer into signing Sergiño Dest of Ajax.

The transfer of Thiago from Bayern Munich to Liverpool is almost concluded. The last things have to be sorted and then it’ll be official. Liverpool will pay the German club around 30 million Euros. Bayern won’t invest that money into a replacement for Thiago as they feel that Tolisso is can fulfil that role. Their right-back position is one of their weakest and with little depth, thus their interest in Dest.

Bayern already tried to sign Dest in the winter of last season. They offered around 20 million Euros but Ajax refused the transfer at the time. Now they’re back for another shot at the signature of the Dutch-American back.

Sergiño Dest (19) has played 36 matches in the Ajax first team so far. He scored twice and delivered 6 assists in those matches. He’s been capped three times for the US national team.

Update: De Telegraaf reports that Bayern already made an initial offer of €15 million, which Ajax has refused. Overmars wants at least €20 million plus €5 million in bonuses for Dest.
