Just like the Europa and Champions League, the UEFA Youth League will be resumed in August. Ajax U19’s will face FC Midtjylland on the 16th of that month for the quarter-finals.
The UEFA has announced this Wednesday that all European competitions will resume in August. That includes the Youth League, in which Ajax is still active. The U19’s coached by John Heitinga will face FC Midtjylland from Denmark in a single leg, played in the Swiss town of Nyon. This town will also host the semi-finals and the final. This place was chosen because the headquarters of the UEFA are also located here.
The quarter-finals will be played on the 18th and 19th of August, the semi’s on the 22nd and the final on the 25th. A week packed full of action from the best talents of Europe!
In March Ajax reached the quarter-finals after beating the U19’s of Atlético Madrid through penalties. Ajax goalie Daan Reiziger became the absolute hero by stopping 3 penalties and scoring the decisive one himself!
