Joël Veltman will out of the game for two months. The central defender will have to undergo knee surgery, Ajax communicated on Monday.
Joël Veltman was the first of three Ajax players that got injured in the match versus PSV (1-0). He had to leave the field after only half an hour with a knee injury. The club has now communicated that after extensive examination it was decided that Veltman had to undergo knee surgery and that he will be out for two months.
This means Veltman will miss quite a few important games. Both the Europa League matches versus Getafe, match versus number two AZ and the classic versus Feyenoord.
Veltman was a mainstay in Ajax’ defence so far this season. He featured in 30 of Ajax’ 33 games so far this season. His place will most likely be taken over by Schuurs or Alvarez.
