Barry Hulshoff has passed away. Ajax reports that on Sunday the ex-Ajax defender passed away aged 73 after a short sickbed.
Barry Hulshoff played for Ajax during the Golden Ages of the club. He played for the first team from 1966 until 1977, for more than 380 matches. First, he played next to Velibor Vasivic in the heart of the defence and later together with Horst Blankenburg.
After his footballing career, he was head- and assistant coach at an array of clubs including Ajax, Lierse, and Mechelen. He was also the supervisor and agent of Matthijs de Ligt.

Hulshoff was also international for the Netherlands, playing a total of 14 games for the national team.
