Ajax and São Paulo aren’t able to strike a deal before the transfer deadline for the transfer of 19-year-old winger Antony. Negotiations do continue for a summer transfer, though.
Negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing for the past few days. According to Brazilian media, Ajax offered €25 million: €20 million to be paid upfront and €5 million in bonuses. São Paulo did not agree to this, however, and there was no time left to come to a new deal.
That Antony doesn’t come right away doesn’t mean he won’t come at all, though. Ajax is now trying to make the transfer happen for the summer of 2020. The club sees him as an ideal replacement of David Neres, who is expected to leave in the summer.
