  • Ajax has only lost one Eredivisie game at home against Willem II, a 1-2 defeat on the 20th of August in 2016: Davy Klaassen put Ajax in front after 23 seconds, where Erik Falkenburg and Fran Sol scored for Willem II putting the 1-2 on the scoreboard.

  • Willem II trainer Adrie Koster has a history at Ajax. During the 2007/08 season, he was interim-coach for 27 matches (W15-D7-L5). Ajax ended the season in second place. During that season Koster won both matches against Willem II. At home, Ajax defeated the club from Tilburg 4-1, the first goal that match was made by Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
