
Huge developments on Tuesday in regards of the Ajax squad. Were we feared a heavily dismantled team due to COVID problems, in the end everyone made it to Denmark! Onana, Tadic and Gravenberch start!
Ten Hag’s choices seemed to be severely limited. Ajax travelled to Denmark with only seventeen players, because as many as eleven players from Ajax 1 and Jong Ajax tested positive for the coronavirus. Players who were allowed to play in the Netherlands were not allowed to travel to Denmark because UEFA uses different test methods. Among others, Andre Onana, Ryan Gravenberch, Davy Klaassen, Dusan Tadic and Maarten Stekelenburg were initially left behind in Amsterdam.
Onana, Gravenberch and Tadic travelled to Denmark a day later and also start the game. Klaassen and Stekelenburg did seem to stay behind in the Netherlands, but two hours before the match it became known that the pair had also been spotted in Denmark. Klaassen nevertheless starts on the bench, just like Stekelenburg.
