According to the US medium Sport Business, Ajax is contemplating participating in the prestigious International Champions Cup, a friendly tournament held every Summer.
Ajax has been asked to participate in previous years but wasn’t able to due to multiple factors. The tournament is always in July and Ajax normally plays the qualifier rounds for the Champions Leagues in that month. This year, however, if Ajax becomes champions in the Netherlands it’ll be different. The Eredivisie champion is directly placed for the group stages from this season onwards.
The ICC is usually a tournament filled to the brim with massive clubs. Last year clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, Juventus, and Real Madrid were present. It will a great way to try and latch on to the European top. Both on the field, and off.
