Tonight, Chelsea and Ajax will face each other on Stamford Bridge for the fourth game in this year’s Champions League group stage. After three matches played the teams from London and Amsterdam are on top of Group H with 6 points each but there is little room for error with Valencia just two points behind in third. Lille only took a single point in the first three fixtures, the French club will be fighting for their last chances tonight in Mestalla.

Chelsea-manager Frank Lampard has been handed a huge boost with the return of star man N’Golo Kante. The French midfielder has been injured for the past few weeks and therefore only started just three Premier League games but has proved to be an important player for the Blues whenever he is fit. Ross Barkley and Andreas Christensen also stepped up their recoveries by participating in training with the first team.

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Cesar Azpilicueta are Lampard’s trusted first-choice options at goalkeeper and right-back respectively. Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori will most likely be playing as centre backs. Marcos Alonso is expected to come back into the side after being left on the bench against Watford last weekend.

With Kante returning on the midfield there are some tough choices to make for Lampard. The Sun expects a midfield with Jorginho, Kante and Kovacevic. Batshuayi made the winner in Amsterdam two weeks ago but Lampard is likely to stick with Abraham after grabbing his ninth league goal of the season against Watford. Mason Mount and in-form Christian Pulisic could start on either side of the striker

Ajax
Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad expects Edson Álvarez back in the starting eleven for tonight’s match on Stamford Bridge. The Mexican international started as a substitute last Friday against PEC Zwolle and didn’t made it till the end of the game due to an injury but is expected to return on one of the midfield positions. He will start next to Lisandro Martinez. Donny van de Beek will have a more offensive position and will play before the two Latino’s.

There are no surprises to be expected in the defense. Onana will start like he does all season. Sergino Dest is expected to play as right-back and centre-backs will be Blind and Veltman with Nicolas Tagliafico starting on the left side.

Dusan Tadic, Hakim Ziyech and Quincy Promes are expected to start upfront which means Brazilian winger David Neres will start on the bench again after starting and scoring against PEC Zwolle over the weekend.

Expected line-up Chelsea:
Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso; Jorginho, Kanté, Kovacic; Mount, Abraham, Pulisic

Expected line-up Ajax:
Onana; Dest, Veltman, Blind, Tagliafico; Alvarez, Martinez, Van de Beek; Ziyech, Promes, Tadic.
