Christian Poulsen, the assistant-manager of Ajax, has been put in home-quarantine because he has been in contact with Danish ex-international Thomas Kahlenberg who has been tested positive for the Corona-virus.
Christian Poulsen celebrated his 40th birthday last Friday and Thomas Kahlenberg was present at the party. Five days after the party Thomas Kahlenberg was tested positive for the Corona-virus. Not only Poulsen was there, but also fitness physiologist Schoenmaker, and a physiotherapist of Ajax.
The chance is pretty big that none of the three staff-members has contracted the virus themselves, but logically Ajax doesn’t want to take any risks: ‘It’s true that three employees were sent home preventively,” says spokesman Miel Brinkhuis. He emphasises that this is a precautionary measure. The club doctor has asked Poulsen, Schoenmaker, and the physiotherapist to measure their temperature for a number of hours and in case of fever, they will undergo a coronary test. ‘The three of them have no complaints. And if it stays that way until Thursday, the staff members can resume their work at the club.’
