One half Ajax dominated their u19 peers from France in the UEFA Youth League and that was enough for the victory. Ajax came out on top after two quick goals within the first ten minutes; 1-2.

The match started out with a lot of fire, where Lille almost scored in the second minute. Only six minutes later it was 0-2 for the Amsterdammers. Brobbey scored an easy goal when Douglas found him after a good rush and Taylor was the first to respond to a rebound.

Sontje Hansen hit the crossbar and failed to give Ajax a really comfortable lead in the first half. Lille kept looking for the counter with fast attackers.

In the second half LOSC found their connecting goal. Ouatarra helped Lille get back into the race twenty minutes before full-time with the goal. He punished an error by Steven van der Sloot. Lille was never able to mount a real offensive after that because Niassa got sent off by the referee after he took out Timber who was broken through to the goal.

Ajax saw out the game professionally, passing the ball around the back-line running down the clock. Ajax is now in the lead in group H. A victory at Valencia will now suffice for the group win, while the team is already assured of a place in the best two.

If Ajax ends in second place, they will have to play a play-off game to reach the last sixteen.
