David Neres and Quincy Promes seem to be making good progress in their revalidation after their injuries suffered at the end of 2019. VI was present at the first training in Qatar and saw progress in the revalidation of both Neres and Promes.

Quincy Promes got injured early in the match versus FC Twente on the first day of December. While it seemed to be a minor injury at first he missed every game (5 in total) that followed so far. It does seem like he’ll be back after the winter break, though. He’s together with the selection on their training camp in Qatar, while others who are also injured stayed in the Netherlands to work on their recovery. During the first public training on Sunday, he already trained together with the selection and seemed to be able to do every exercise to the fullest.

David Neres picked up a knee injury in the Champions League game versus Chelsea in November. The Brazilian winger is also present in Qatar but did still train separately from the group. His revelation does seem to be nearing the end, though. He already did quite a few sprints at top speed and exercises with the ball.

Other injuries

Zakaria Labyad, Daley Blind and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp didn’t make the trip to Qatar. Their recovery will take longer so they’ll be focussing on that back in the Netherlands. It’s uncertain when they’ll return.
