Ajax has given an official update about the injuries of Joël Veltman, Quincy Promes, and Ryan Babel. The first two will not be available for at least a week, where the latter might make it just in time. All three got injured last Sunday in the match versus PSV (1-0 win).
Joël Veltman has pains in his knee. He’ll be out for at least a week but the injury isn’t in his ACL as people feared. He missed a large portion of last season due to an ACL injury so that’s a plus.
Quincy Promes suffered a hamstring injury and will be out of the running for at least a few weeks. He only just returned from his previous injury.
There was some good news, though. Ryan Babel’s injury, a bruising in his gluteal muscles, is probably over before next Sunday. There’s a big chance he’ll be fit enough to play versus FC Utrecht.
