Jong Ajax completely dominated Go Ahead Eagles on Monday evening, both on the pitch and the scoreboard. A hat-trick by Danilo Pereira and goals by Brian Brobbey and Quinten Timber saw Jong Ajax win with 5-1.
Ajax started the game with a lot of energy and after only 11 minutes Naci Ünüvar got fouled in the penalty area. Danilo Pereira didn’t hesitate from the given penalty and fired Ajax into the lead.
Only five minutes later Ajax got another penalty. This time Brian Brobbey got taken down inside the 18-yard box. He claimed the penalty and fired the ball into the upper corner of the goal.
Go Ahead Eagles got a few chances themselves. Kik Pierie lost the ball in a dangerous place and the subsequent chance only missed the goal by a very small margin. Just before half-time, Ajax decided the outcome of the match, however. Danilo scored his second and Ajax’ third of the evening after good work by Naci Ünüvar.
Ten minutes after half-time the Brazilian completed his hat-trick. After another good action and amazing assist by Naci Ünüvar. Ajax did get into some troubles, though, after Kik Pierie took down a player through on goal. He got a straight red card and could hit the showers early.
Only a few minutes later GAE was also left with ten players. Gino Bosz tried to cut down Brian Brobbey and also got a straight red card. Ten minutes before the end Maarten Pouwels scored the 4-1 but Quinten Timber scored another goal for Ajax. The match ended in 5-1.
Jong Ajax is in second place after 24 rounds, with one point less than frontrunner Cambuur. Go Ahead, who has already drawn eleven times, remains fifth with ten points behind Cambuur.
