According to De Telegraaf, Tottenham Hotspur has failed to sign Donny van de Beek. Sources at the English club say that the midfielder of Ajax is only interested in joining Real Madrid. Los Blancos already enquired about Donny van de Beek in the summer and are willing to pay the €55 million transfer fee.

Real Madrid came knocking for Donny van de Beek last summer. Technical Director Marc Overmars set his price at 50-60 million euro. Real Madrid didn’t move fast enough and when the Champions League qualifiers came around, the player made the decision to stay loyal to Ajax at least this season.

The extremely rapid development of Van de Beek, his selection for the Dutch Team and the good performances in the league and Champions League convinced Real Madrid to try and sign him once more. In the election of the Ballon d’Or, the Dutchman finished in 28th place and at the gala in Paris, the Ajacied received compliments from the big stars for his abilities.

Another great example of the Ajax academy

A transfer of Van de Beek to Real Madrid would once again be a great advertisement for Ajax’s youth academy. Last summer his former teammates Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt moved to FC Barcelona and Juventus respectively.

A multi-year contract lays waiting for van de Beek in the Spanish capital. The midfielder himself and his agents Guido Albers and Sjaak Swart did not want to respond to the upcoming transfer yesterday. Real Madrid also kept quiet.
