According to VI Ajax is looking at 21-year-old Mexican midfielder Roberto Alvarado as a future replacement of either Donny van de Beek or Hakim Ziyech.
Roberto Alvarado currently plays for Mexican side Cruz Azul. His main position is as a central attacking midfielder but he’s also more than able to play on the wings. He’ll be the replacement when either Donny van de Beek or Hakim Ziyech leaves this summer. He’s only 21 years old but has already played 18 games for the Mexican national team.
Ajax isn’t looking to get the player this winter. If a deal is made it’ll be in the summer of 2020. Alvarado is rumoured to have a release clause of €15 million. That makes him quite a bit cheaper than the alternative Ajax is looking at, Calvin Stengs of AZ.
Not only Ajax is interested in the signature of the Mexican youngster. Crystal Palace and Leicester City are also keeping an eye on him.
