Ajax has signed a collaboration agreement with Sharjah FC for three years. Ajax will help the club with their youth academy.
This means that Ajax becomes responsible for the coordination of Sharjah’s entire youth academy. Scouting, talent development, etc. will all be done by staff from Amsterdam based in the UAE.
Van der Sar is in the Emirates at the moment to sign the contract: “This is the next step for Ajax, we are excited to have been able to yet again expand our international network. Sharjah FC has a similar philosophy and we share a mutual vision regarding youth education. Our aim is to build a strong youth academy together, bringing talents to the next level. Ajax has made great progress in sharing our knowledge in the last years. There is a
serious demand, which allows us to find partners that are a good fit for us. We are convinced we have found such a partner in Sharjah FC.”

Sharjah FC isn’t the only club Ajax has an agreement with. Via the Ajax Coaching Academy (ACA) Ajax also helps other clubs around the world, such as Guangzhou R&F FC (China), Sagan Tosu (Japan) and, Sydney FC (Australia), among others.
