Hakim Ziyech looks back on yesterday’s match against FC Utrecht with a good feeling. The playmaker speaks of a good match and is glad that the coach let him play at midfield instead of the rightwinger position.

‘It was a good game for us, we played with a lot of pleasure and showed good football. We enjoyed this match so much, that I didn’t felt that I was tired’, Ziyech told Fox Sports. In the coming week, Ziyech will play for the Moroccan squad. Last time, he was absent because of an injury, but now he is fully fit. ‘I’m available for the team. I’m feeling good and just want to play.’

Furthermore, Ziyech gladly saw his friend and teammate Zakaria Labyad appearing in the line-up yesterday against FC Utrecht. ‘We all know the situation of Zakaria. I am happy for him that he started against FC Utrecht and that he played very well. I think everyone is glad for him.’ In the period Labyad didn’t play, Ziyech was trying to help him: ‘I try to motivate him and let him know that his chance will come. That chance came today and I think that he grabbed that opportunity pretty good and showed that he is a fantastic player’.

Since Labyad started on the position of the injured David Neres, Ziyech stayed in midfield. Ziyech is happy with the choice of Ten Hag. “First of all, I’m glad that there weren’t that many changes in the team. We are now in a phase where everyone is getting used to their position and because of that, we play great football. Of course, it is sad for Neres that it happened at this moment, but again, I’m glad that the coach didn’t change too much.”
