David Neres has picked up a knee injury in last Tuesday’s game against Chelsea and will probably be out for 2 months. Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag has said this during his press conference on Friday afternoon.
Ten Hag said that the injury probably already occurred before half-time in the match against Chelsea last Tuesday: “It was clear immediately after the game. Fur us this is a major disappointment. It is very annoying for all of us but especially for him. His great shape was imminent if it wasn’t there already.” says Ten Hag.
David Neres was not the first name on the team sheet this season but last matches he was a regular starter. The winger played 20 games this season in which he scored 6 times and provided an assist 2 times.
