The players, technical staff and directors of Ajax will take a pay cut in order to help support the club. Daley Blind, who’s the spokesperson of the player’s board, confirms this news.
‘We’re in solidarity. The club will miss out on millions in these difficult times. We had conversations about that. We, as the players, think it’s logical that we also contribute,’ Daley Blind explained the decision on the VI website.
The decision is in line with earlier advice by the unions. They advised a collective pay cut. How much of a cut they take isn’t known, but the advice was from 2 to 20% on a progressive scale.
