The Dutch government has decided that no public events with more than 100 people present are allowed to be held until at least the end of the month. This is to prevent rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus.
This means that the first team will have two matches cancelled. Ajax – FC Twente on Sunday the 15th and Feyenoord – Ajax on the 22nd. Jong Ajax will also have two matches cancelled; Excelsior (16th) and FC Eindhoven (20th).
There are already 614 positive cases for the virus in the Netherlands. With there being multiple hotspots in the country the government has decided that it’s unwise to host any more big events.
On the 17th of March, the UEFA will have a meeting with all the national FA’s. There it will be discussed if national and international competitions will be continued. Even the UEFA Euro 2020 might be postponed until 2021. We’ll keep you updated!
