David Neres received an invitation from Brazil’s national coach Tite. The invitation for Neres is quite remarkable because Neres hasn’t started in the starting eleven once in October and because of his absence during the last international break.
Neres participated with Brazil in the Copa América last summer. After he made an excellent impression last season on behalf of Ajax in the Champions League, he even captured a position in the starting eleven from the national team. Due to disappointing performances, he quickly lost his place in the team and from that moment on he didn’t play anymore. During the last international match period, Tite had no place in his squad for Neres, but now that Neymar has been injured, Ajax’s winger returns to the selection.
Neres will be one out of six attackers in the Brazilian squad. He is accompanied by Roberto Firminio (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton), Willian (Chelsea), Rodrygo (Real Madrid) and Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City).
On November 15, Brazil will face Argentina and in that game, Neres will be facing Ajax teammate Nicolás Tagliafico. Four days later, on November 19, the confrontation with South Korea awaits.
